24 HOURS IN CHICAGO
It’s hard to imagine a city as storied and lauded as Chicago sneaking up on anyone, but as a first-time visitor, I was genuinely surprised by its beauty and it’s architecture. The city feels altogether different than either its fellow American cities on the east or west coast and is set apart from the historic sweep of the great cities of Europe. Chicago sits comfortably in its own space: mixing sturdy American industrialism and ambition with Midwestern warmth. I enjoyed my unexpected and unseasonably warm Autumn day in Chicago and look forward to returning.
